Wayde van Niekerk has revealed how Usain Bolt gave him the belief to break the 400m world record
"I got to realise we are all human beings and that what's possible for him ( Usain Bolt ) is possible for me."
Jamaican legend Usain Bolt inspired Wayde van Niekerk to break Michael Johnson’s 400 metres world record.
The South African smashed the 17 year record time of 43.18 set by the American to write his name into the history books by recording 43.03.
That performance led to many believing the 24-year-old was the natural successor to Bolt as the poster boy of athletics.
